Like many here in the Queen City, I am a transplant Charlottean. I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where I earned my B.A. in Criminal Justice and my M.A. in Criminology. My M.A. was focused on Domestic Violence, specifically the many effects Domestic Violence can have on children. After graduate school, I attended law school, where I graduated in the top of my class.
While in law school, I worked as a clerk and a paralegal in a local family law office. I also worked as an Honor’s Intern for the Federal Bureau of Investigation where I focused on combating Gang Crime, Violent Crime, and White-Collar Crime in the city of Charlotte. After law school, I practiced family law at that same firm before joining Rech Law, P.C.
Growing up, I was no stranger to the many facets of family law. Having experienced divorce and both the happiness and the hardships new blended families bring first hand, I developed a passion for family law early on in my legal career.
When I am not practicing law, who knows where you will find me! I enjoy traveling and exploring cities and towns I have never visited and going to museums and national parks across the United States. I also enjoy playing sports, running, and spending time with my husband and three dogs, Little Sandy Angel Princess, McCarter Wayne, and Penelope “Penny” Ann. On Sunday mornings, you will find me volunteering in the nursery at church.
As a family law attorney, I strive to provide my clients not only with comprehensive legal advice, but also with the compassion and understanding they often need during this time. I believe that building a connection with each and every client leads to a better understanding of each unique case. In turn, that understanding allows me to give the best legal advice with respect to the specific situation at hand. It is important to me that my clients fully understand their legal options as they navigate this season of their life.
