I am basically a Charlotte native, or as close as you can get – my family moved to Charlotte when I was a little over three years old from Toronto, Canada, so I came to live in Charlotte with dual citizenship from both Canada and the US. I went to Myers Park High School and graduated from Providence High School. While in law school in Boston, I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Malta, where I was able to help teach English to refugees in the biggest open refugee center in the world. It was an eye-opening experience that heightened my drive to help people after graduating law school.
I started my law career practicing in bankruptcy law over twelve years ago, then moved to a firm practicing general civil litigation, and finally found my calling in Family Law. My background in the practice of law is diverse and I’ve found that it can be very beneficial when representing clients in Family Law matters, as many times my prior background can be intertwined when assisting clients in the issues they currently face.
I became an attorney to help people, but I never really felt like I was meeting that goal until I started practicing Family Law. Whether it is a simple divorce case, or the whole “kitchen sink” family case, I take a holistic approach to my clients and I am all in.
In my free time, you can find me spending way too much time with my two adorable dogs, traveling the globe (when time permits), and cheering on my Carolina Panthers and Florida State Seminoles.
Practice Philosophy
I am incredibly passionate for my clients and take an active role to help them through, what is typically, one of the hardest times in their lives. Going through anything from just a simple divorce to the most extreme custody matters and the financial aspect of dissolving a marriage is tricky and I try to take a holistic approach to each individual client. My philosophy is the tailor my advice to each clients’ specific needs, based upon their individual situation and family needs.
