Katherine Ackerly is originally from Chicago, Illinois but quickly decided that cold winters were not for her. This realization brought her to Clemson University, where she received her BA in Sociology, with a concentration in criminal justice. After completing her degree at Clemson, she pursued her master’s degree in social work at the University of South Carolina. If anyone asks, the answer is Clemson.
During Katherine’s MSW program, she interned at the Department of Juvenile Justice’s detention center, where her passion for criminal justice was deeply enhanced. She fell in love with her clients, and she knew that her calling was providing support to those who needed it most.
She moved to Charlotte after completing her MSW in the hopes of finding success in a thriving, young city. She began her career with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Gaston as a Club Director, in which she led and managed all day-to-day operations, as well as developed their social media platform and engaged in community outreach. Although her time there was rewarding, Rech Law, P.C. offered her the opportunity to grow and learn in the field she is passionate about. She hopes to eventually pursue a law degree.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys spending time with her two dogs, exercising, and exploring all that Charlotte has to offer.
