A Wilmington, North Carolina native, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Communications. After graduating from ECU, I took some time to explore various career fields. After gaining professional experience, I realized law was my calling. I decided it was time to get serious about my passion and started my law school journey immediately. I relocated to Boston, MA, where I attended law school. However, the cold was not for me, and I came back to North Carolina to practice law.
During law school, I concentrated on family law, conflict resolution, litigation, and business while receiving a certificate in risk management and compliance. I was also listed on the Massachusetts Pro Bono Honor Roll for completing over 200 pro bono hours with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, where I worked with domestic violence cases. One of the highlights of my law school career was participating in a national mock trial competition hosted by Phi Alpha Delta in Washington, DC, where my team placed top 15 in the country.
Thanks to a dedicated mentor during law school, I discovered my strengths in family law. As a child of divorce who has been a support system for loved ones during divorce and custody, I understand the emotions that come with this process. My goal is to be empathetic and solution-driven during one of the most stressful and emotional times of a client’s life. I strive to provide insight and knowledge, realistic expectations, and hands-on accessibility through the entire process.
During my free time, you can find me enjoying every bit of sunshine. As a Wilmington native, I love the beach and the water. I also have a passion for animals and my boyfriend, and I have plans for a micro-farm in the future. Wherever I am, you can expect to see Cam, my Australian Shepherd. I’m also a cheese and wine enthusiast who will never turn down an opportunity to try something new.
