Originally hailing from Frederick, Maryland, Mary Stamato has slowly made her way back up the east coast since graduating from the College of Charleston in 2016 and settling in the illustrious city of Charlotte. After earning her B.S. in Anthropology and English, she decided to trade in her undefeated, albeit nonexistent, college football team to become a Gamecock and attend the University of South Carolina School of Law.
During law school, Attorney Stamato worked as a legal research, analysis and writing tutor, as well as a research assistant, while maintaining a course load that focused on juveniles in the court system. In her final year of school, she also had the opportunity to work as a student attorney for the University of South Carolina’s Education Rights Clinic where she served parents of students with disabilities. This opportunity to work closely with families as they navigated the challenges of the school system demonstrated the profound impact the family unit has on many facets of life.
Upon graduating from law school, Attorney Stamato found herself being drawn not only to the Queen City but also to the practice of family law.
When not in the office you can find Mary reading something highly recommended by Oprah Winfrey or Reese Witherspoon, indulging on Charlotte’s local cuisine, or doting on her dog, Percy.
Attorney Stamato believes in a client-centered approach to the practice of law that empowers the client’s own voice through knowledge of the law. Experience has shown Attorney Stamato the profound impact that knowing one’s rights and legal options can have on an individual. By helping clients understand how the law impacts their unique situation, she hopes clients feel more confident as they navigate whatever challenges they face.
