Mihai Salagean

I was born in Sibiu, Romania, in the heart of Transylvania, where I lived with my parents until the age of seven. At that time, my family immigrated to the United States so that I could undergo a life-changing medical procedure. That experience shaped my perspective at an early age and instilled in me a deep appreciation for resilience, opportunity, and advocacy. I am bilingual in English and Romanian.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University before attending Campbell University School of Law, where I concentrated my studies in advanced negotiation and trial advocacy. During law school, I completed a semester-long externship with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., further developing my skills in diplomacy, research, and legal analysis.

I have been admitted to practice law in North Carolina since 2017 and am also admitted to the United States District Court for the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina. My practice focuses primarily on family law and general civil litigation. I approach each case with strategic preparation, practical judgment, and a results-driven mindset, always mindful of the real-world impact legal disputes have on my clients and their families.

Early in my career, I had the privilege of working closely with one of Charlotte’s respected family law trial attorneys, gaining meaningful courtroom experience and mentorship. That foundation shaped my disciplined approach to trial preparation and reinforced the importance of thorough strategy, clear communication, and steady advocacy.

Outside the office and courtroom, I am a devoted husband and proud dog owner to our Cocker Spaniel. I am also an above-the-knee prosthetic wearer and mono-skier. In college, I worked as a ski instructor alongside wounded veterans and fellow amputees, an experience that continues to influence my resilience, perspective, and commitment to helping others navigate life’s challenges. In my free time, I enjoy traveling throughout Europe, working on my Toyota 4Runner, and spending time grilling with family and friends.

I understand that my clients are going through the most difficult time of their lives. For this reason, I provide practical and knowledgeable responses to all of my clients in a timely matter. Taking this same approach, I strive to get to know all of my cases on a personal level. Doing so allows me to provide my clients with the best representation, whether it be a “simple” divorce or a contested trial.
